Fragen zum Handpan lernen

Wie lange dauert es, Handpan zu lernen?

Darauf gibt es keine pauschale Antwort, denn es hängt davon ab, was du unter „Handpan spielen können“ verstehst.
Durch die besondere Bauweise der Handpan können viele schon nach wenigen Minuten einfache Melodien spielen.

Dank der vorgestimmten Skala klingt das Instrument sehr schnell harmonisch – dissonante Intervalle entstehen deutlich seltener als bei Gitarre oder Klavier.
Wer jedoch mehr möchte, sich musikalisch weiterentwickeln, improvisieren und eigene Stücke spielen will, braucht Übung. Virtuosität entsteht mit der Zeit – nicht über Nacht.

Ist Handpan schwer zu lernen?

Kurz gesagt: Nein, Handpan ist nicht schwer zu lernen.
Die Handpan ist ein sehr anfängerfreundliches Instrument und kommt vielen Menschen intuitiv entgegen.

Gleichzeitig gilt: Wenn du Konzerte spielen oder ein wirklich interessantes Repertoire aufbauen möchtest, brauchst du regelmäßige Praxis.
Handpan lernen ist leicht im Einstieg – aber bietet genug Tiefe, um dich über Jahre musikalisch weiterzuentwickeln.

In welchen Skalen kann Ich Handpan lernen?

In meinen Gruppen arbeiten wir hauptsächlich mit Kurd und Amara (Celtic) Skalen, da dies die beliebtesten Handpan-Stimmungen sind.

Durch meine fundierte musikalische Ausbildung kann ich mich jedoch auf jeder Handpan-Skala zurechtfinden.
Die Handpan erfindet die Musiktheorie nicht neu – und genau dieses Verständnis gebe ich weiter, damit du unabhängig von der Stimmung Handpan spielen lernen kannst.

Wird Handpan nach Noten gespielt?

Nein, es ist nicht nötig, Noten lesen zu können, um Handpan zu spielen.
Viel wichtiger ist es, die Intervalle auf deiner Handpan zu verstehen – also die klanglichen Abstände zwischen den Tönen.

Oft höre ich: „Das ist ein D und das ist ein F.“
Das ist schön – aber entscheidend ist zu wissen, dass das F eine kleine Terz zum D bildet.
Wer diese Zusammenhänge versteht, kann Akkorde bauen, Stimmungen erzeugen und wirklich musikalisch kreativ werden – ganz ohne klassisches Notensystem.

The handpan provides access to music for many people. However, this leads to countless offerings. Unfortunately, many of them are musically questionable and often dubious. A chic outfit and English lyrics are no substitute for musical competence.

From 25 years of experience as a professional musician, I know: good sound never just happens. Only sound knowledge, experience, and genuine skill lead to long-term, sustainable success.

About me

I'm Florian – a percussionist, handpan artist, and musician with 20 years of stage experience. After studying music and performing internationally, I was Principal Percussionist at the Operettenhaus Hamburg from 2019 to 2024.

After many years of performing music at the highest professional level, primarily as a service, I am now returning to its roots – and to its true meaning:

Creativity. Self-knowledge through sound. Music as a spiritual path and a gateway to a higher power that connects us all.
